Inside that dimension is a white "matt" about 1" all the way around.So the actual picture area is 8&1/2" wide and 5" top to bottom. **Q: Why do red question marks show up instead of pictures?** A: If the file is corrupted or not of a type that can be read, a red question mark is displayed. **Q: Can someone who is saying that yes, you can set the photos to be in random/shuffled order please explain how? I’ve tried every setting w/o success.** A: It's part of the setup menu, which I accessed using the directions that were included.
