**Q: We want to use this lamp to provide two people with enough light to play cards with on our balcony. Average time we play is one hour. Will this work?**
A: I don't think so.  It's a nice little portable sensor light.  But it wouldn't be bright enough for me to play cards, unless, perhaps, dead center on the play table.

**Q: As a bedside lamp can you read with this?   Also, can you not use the sensor function or is it always on sensor?**
A: The LED lights are really quite tiny.  I would not use it as a reading lamp because it is not bright enough for reading, at least not for me.  You can set the sensor to motion, or turn it off.

**Q: How do you get the dimmer light on motion sensor mode?**
A: There is a switch on the lamp for the motion mode. M

**Q: If u remove the shade will the lamp still work?  I woild amwant to chnage or paint the shade if jt doesn't impact the function of the lamp.**
A: It SHOULD?  The sensor that detects movement to light the lamp is located on the base, so it doesn’t seem like removing the shade would affect the functionality. Interesting idea!

I purchased these lamps for my 87 yr old mother who wakes in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. She has balance issues and being tired only makes it more dangerous for her to get out of bed. The lamp is positioned so that when she raises her arm in bed the lamp goes on. It is not a bright lamp and its' use is to give enough light to see but not enough to use as a regular light source to read etc.. It works perfectly for this purpose and she thinks it's an attractive lamp on top of that. We put a second lamp on the kitchen counter where it goes on when she is walking towards the dark kitchen. The lamps go on only when it's fairly dark in the room. About the amount of light that matches the light outside 15 minutes before the sun sets.These lamps are very light in weight. I bought a ton of extra batteries for her but haven't had to change one yet after giving the lamps to her for Christmas 2015. I highly recommend this product.
