I wanted to use it to take and make telephone calls and listen to music and podcasts. The DOSS SoundBox Plus fits all the requirements I needed. It is a very sleek speaker that provides clear and crisp sound. There is a surprising amount of bass in this small unit. I was not originally looking for a speaker that had light effects, but I found it to be fun to use. You do not have to have the speakers illumiated, and can choose from a variety of effects.Right out of the box the speaker was easy to use. After pairing the speaker with my phone I was playing music with a minute. The sound was large and full. It is easy to adjust the volume directly on the speaker by tracing the center circle in the direction you want the sound to go. Left for down, and right for up. You have the ability to connect to the speaker via Bluetooth, using the 3.5 mm auxilary cable or even via a SD card.Comes with an instruction booklet, micro USB charging cable and a 3.5 mm aux cable.I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fantastic sounding speaker at a reasonable price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Eh *by G***A on Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2019* I've had this speaker for 1 hour now. Here is the deal. The sound is what you would expect from a 30-40 dollar speaker. It's not going to impress anyone. Personally I think it sounds pretty bad. It's good enough for my office which is where I want to put it because I can't make it too loud anyway, but if you are looking for a loud speaker with good bass this isn't your speaker. I am kind of particular with my music quality because I listen to music all day long but I'm not a speaker snobb. I'm always looking for quality to value ratio. I have played it out on our porch as loudly as it will go (sorry, neighbors) and there was no distortion. I don’t usually crank it up, but it has done really well. The video shows the lights. The controls are easy and it pairs easily. You have to hold down the light button on the side until you see it pop up in your Bluetooth devices. The volume control took a little figuring out. You have to press the ring on top a little firmly, not just lightly. I have not yet had to charge it, but haven’t used it for hours and hours. The light features are changeable, which is nice. It was packaged well, came quickly.
