He loves this series! It is 1st grade level but the humour was enjoyed by this 3rd grader. The author uses repetitive words and phrases which helpful to beginning readers but keeps the story moving and interesting. The illustrations are cute and the emotions of the characters are well depicted, giving new readers additional context clues.
