Review: Works great, just smells very strong - This stuff works good and is coming out satin, as advertised. The smell is stronger than any clearcoat I have used. This is only the second kind of spray lacquer I have used. Use this outdoors or in an area away from you for a few hours after spraying. It smells a lot like you are sitting in a nail salon, even if you spray it outdoors, and bring the sprayed product inside shortly after. It takes a couple of hours for the smell to calm down, so leave it away from you for that long before bringing the sprayed product into an area where you will be hanging out. It's kind of important to know. The only place I've seen a reference was review that says it's nitro, doubt it.** A: It is Nitrocellulose Lacquer. I've used it for finishing guitars as part of a complete nitro finish. **Q: Can this be used on a wooden sign painted with acrylic paint?** A: You can apply any finish over any other finish as long as the one you're covering is dry (cured) and roughed up a little. Lacquer should cover acrylic with no problem. However, if this sign will be used outside, lacquer is probably not the most durable finish you could use. **Q: i have cast iron parts that have been spray painted with metallic spray paint would this seal and dry to a hard finish?** A: It should adhere to another paint, but there are too many possible variables in terms of solvents used in your original paint.
