I just ordered new battery extra for back up.. also the higher and best settings the less battery life and lets not talk about hd video even shorter time also zoom and viewing pics drain battery real fast.. when photo taking I set mine manually for scene or regular auto the SR auto setting sucks because when sometimes recognizing a scene it picks the wrong one and you'll end up with blurry pics.. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars 10 Year old bought this *by M***8 on Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2014* My oldest saved up her allowance ($5 every two weeks then $10 the last couple weeks) to get this camera. My husband and I picked it out for her after discussing price range. This is our 3rd Fuji camera. My husband got me a refurbished bulkier version way back in 2002 when we were first expecting our oldest. I upgraded to a bigger one in 2007. Sorry for the lack of technical verbiage!Anyway, I do like Fuji over other brands because of the button. It presses down half way very nicely. You then see green if it's focused or red if it's not (as far as I know most digital cameras do this). Something simple enough for my daughter as well as me!It takes pretty decent pics. I'm still playing with the options as sometimes they end up grainy. I know it's not "child friendly" but it's been a great first starter when for a budding photographer (and now she leaves mine alone!) It's also been nice to pass off the picture taking to her as I have been slacking over the years hahaIt's easy to use (another reason we stuck with Fuji, we don't have to re-learn buttons & menus) The screen is nice and big. It had a permanent dull spot in the sensor which produced a spot in every photo (yes, the lens was clean). But, I loved the camera, so I bought a replacement from Amazon. This second one had a defective flash. It worked a couple of times, then quit. I tried resetting to factory settings, various program modes, recharged the battery, inserted a new battery, and tried forced flash but still no flash. Now, my problem is this: I love the size, 10X zoom, 16 Megapixels, and weight of the camera. The photos were fine; no issues. So should I buy another one or not?
