Oak honey is one of the honeydew honeys, i.e. it is produced from the secretions of honeydew insects that parasitize the bark of the oak tree. Beehives are kept amongst organic herb cultivations and transferred over a 1000m altitude in summer period to collect what Greek nature offers. It contains no added sugar, no preservatives. I am adding to tea - enhances the flavour, and spreading on toast. It would work well as an addition to savoury dishes. It is thick and a little goes a long way so although it might seem expensive I feel it is good value for the quality of taste and thickness which lasts.
