**Q: What is the shelf life?**
A: Hi there, 
Good question, especially with the store shelves being stripped of every single bean. It is said the shelf life is 1 to 2 years. I personally have found they last about a year. After that, they get so hard and dry they just won’t cook. Ive tried to cook old beans myself and after12 hours and they were still like rocks. I didn’t add salt because that can also cause beans not to cook. So I would recommend using them within a year. I cook a large pot full when they are fresh and then freeze them. You could probably can the cooked beans too, I haven’t tried that yet, you probably need a pressure canner, they are likely considered a low acid food. Hope that helped.

**Q: Is this 12 lbs? If so good deal.**
A: Yes, it is 12 lb. 4lb. each of black, pinto and small red beans.

**Q: Can I use these to blind bake a pie crust?**
A: I don't see why a person couldn't use these beans to blind bake a pie shell.

**Q: Are these beans non GMO? And are they sprayed with pesticides?**
A: These beans are GMO. Not organic.
