They do not scratch the table, and they absorb condensation. I do not have to worry about a wet coaster, or a puddle forming on them under the drink. When I lift my drink, the coaster doesn't come with it! The coasters work for large coffee mugs, and normal sized cups. Also, they are sturdy (and so is the holder). Overall, the coasters are great. Love the cork back, absorbency, and design. I haven't had to wash them yet though. The cork on the underside grips pretty well, so they don't slide around easily at all.The holder that's included is made of wood and has a fairly cheap black coating but overall does its job well and won't break easily.
