It was quite simple to fill the bases with water and the only challenge we had was the occasional drooping of the net which required a bit of tightening of the rope holding it up. The ball that came with the set was PERFECT for the pool (sturdier than a beach ball but not as potentially violent as a real volleyball.) We did establish a no spiking rule as that not only potentially compromised the net (that's the only time the supports tipped at all) but it might have resulted in some black eyes! Playing in the deep end was more challenging than in the shallow, but it was fun to try to come up with new ways to make it work and we rotated sides to keep it fair. It was possibly the most fun part of the trip and everyone was so glad I purchased this set!
