They are slightly different -- slightly altered cap and a colored stripe near the point that indicates the color, but they write just like the original. And they are made in France, not China or Mexico. These are shipped from the U.K., where they are still available. I am indignant that I have been in the U.K. many times over the past 20 years and never thought to look for them in a stationer's or chemist's shop. The cap of the pen tells u the ink color. The orange color of the barrel means it is a fine tip unlike the clear barrel which is always a medium tip. I wish we could still get the BIC orange pens in the USA, but found I could only order then from the UK. At least BIC is still making them. I prefer ball point over rollerball or gel and love Bic, but don't buy them much since I prefer fine point pens. Too sad BIC doesn't sell in USA anymore that I could find. **Q: The picture on the box shows the pen is orange all th way to the tip. But on picture shows a blue tip on the writing end. But at least I have them now. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you, BIC, I missed these *by A***R on June 9, 2017* I used these pens religiously when I was in college and then they discontinued them in the US. But they kept making them in France. :) SAME OLD FEATURES: 1. Orange plastic hexagonal (six-sided) barrel which gives a great grip. 2. Fine tip point .7-.8 3. Beautiful light blue ink, not dark navy, which is easy on the eyes. 4. Ink washes out of clothes and wipes off of purses and furniture with a small dab of soap. 5. Smooth writing ball point. 6. Still comes in blue, black, red, and green. 7. Still made in France, but imported to UK so we can get it shipped to the US. 8. New product, not vintage old dried up ink pens. 9. Hole in cap to keep ink from exploding. 10. Plug at top of pen so if you want you can remove the refill and use it for something else. WHAT'S NEW: 1. Barrel is slightly narrower. It takes some getting used to. 2. Because the barrel is narrower now there's a "bulge" at the top of the pen. I don't care though. It just looks funny. 3. All but the black have a color band around the tip showing the ink color. ROYAL MAIL VS. SPRING GLOBAL: 1. Ordered from a seller with perfect ratings on May 22. 2. They shipped Royal Mail (no tracking in US). 3. Received on June 1, exactly 10 days later. 4. Ordered the same product from a different UK seller on May 22. 5.
