I like that it gives you time to think how to translate sentences, and is just the right amount of challenging. The repetitiveness definitely helps with memory retention. I like to use this together with Duolingo so I can learn not only how to speak German, but also how to read it. This helps me understand better how to pronounce the words as well - sometimes it doesn't come through correctly when I hear it.
