He loves squid and this book has great pictures, great examples (a giant squid stretched across a baseball field!) and scientific facts mixed with the old myths (“scientists say no” this isn’t possible…) I think it’s a little outdated since I think they did get a giant squid on film in 2006? But we talk through that and how scientists keep making discoveries. I thought the talk of dead squid and photos of washed up carcasses would bother him but he is super interested and shows what scientists actually study! Great find - I love this keeps the interest and learning going!

My son can recite this book. We read as a bedtime story. He is 4- nearly 5 years old. He loves squid and this book has great pictures, great examples (a giant squid stretched across a baseball field!) and scientific facts mixed with the old myths (“scientists say no” this isn’t possible…) I think it’s a little outdated since I think they did get a giant squid on film in 2006? But we talk through that and how scientists keep making discoveries.
