A: Do not run any motor idc what they claim for more than 4k miles without changing the oil and the filter at the same time! Pray your motor don’t blow up.

A: no ! is not normal it should have like a plastic cover to protect the seal...…..l have one before just like you said and when l tnstalled after a month it came loose and leaks a little l am glad l see the trace of oil in the ground.....since then l never used this filter and l will not going to used ever this king of filter stayed the original.....
