This book is designed to work with a German teacher (not for self study). It is well structured and you really learn to speak and use the language with this book. Great material!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ordered at the request of my German teacher

I'm an adult learner of German and I'm doing it just for fun. My teacher recommended this text to me (as well as the workbook, but it hasn't arrived yet). I'm just starting out with it and wanted to share important information: the DVD doesn't work with my Mac! But all the materials are available for free download at the publisher's site and the info for this is located on page 9. I was able to download them easily and save them for listening in iTunes. It took me a little while to figure out how the audio corresponds to the written text; the little yellow box next to each individual unit (there are 11 such units in chapter 1) corresponds to an mp3 file. The audio is a little confusing at first because it is much more than just a simple reading of the lesson, and you must listen carefully to see what information you need to know to do the workbook exercises! But it is not so hard to figure out and I soon understood how it all fits together. I see that others have found the way the audio and text go together to be a bit confusing, which is why I'm explaining it here. It just takes a little patience! I think this is going to be a great learning tool for me and I'm eager to get deeper into the materials. I'm rating it 4 stars though I really need to work with it more to give an accurate review. The 4 stars are a sort of anticipated level of satisfaction.
