He is not a dancer outside of what he has learned in theatre, so he didn't own any dance shoes. He chose these because they look "more like street shoes" than the others did. His teacher/director was very impressed with these shoes and told the other students about them. They fit exactly as described in the size chart and he reports they are very comfortable and easy to dance in. He is very pleased with them, so I am very pleased with this purchase. But these are good quality shoes. Very well manufactured. My feet are comfortable while messing up each and every step for two hours each lesson. The ladies in the class were amazed that I found a size to fit my size 14 flippers I have as feet. I got the 19M. They were a bit tight at first but after about 10hours they fit perfect and are very comfortable. Too bad they don't teach my feet to be in the right place at the right time. I gave it 4 stars because I had to secure some seams to withstand my 233lb frame.. It’s like dancing in socks (without the holes in your socks and the blisters on your feet from spins). These are fabulous for practicing or social dancing. My “proper” west coast shoes either make my toes go numb and blister my heels (heeled sandals) or turn my big toe into a giant bruise and blister my heel (men’s/unisex shoes). These are sweet relief.
