## Questions & Answers

**Q: how does it work?**
A: There's a sealed reed switch inside,, when it's near (within 1-2 inches) the magnet, the switch leads indicate a closure. And, when there is a gap greater than 2 inches between the switch & magnet there is an open between the wire leads. This type of switch is usually used on a door and hooked to an alarm panel.

**Q: Im planning to use this for the 120V contactor coil, Is this rated to 120VAC?**
A: Jaime- This switch is meant for DC voltage 12-130VDC not AC, contact amseco tech support at 314-595-6900

**Q: How do you connect this to the Schlage door sensor?**
A: Not familiar w/ the Schlage system connections. When the 2 parts of this switch are in close proximity  (as if the door is closed) the device will give the 2 wires attached a closed contact circuit.

**Q: How long is the cable/wire and what type of wire? I assume I'll need to extend it to reach the Mimolite unit which will be mounted near the opener.**
A: The wire coming off of the device was not very long, I had some spare wire from the old garage door install I used to connect mine.
