I assumed this was an active adapter, as I didn't realize they made "inactive" ones. I also didnt realize this was limited to 1080P. So that was an issue for me, as I meant to use this with a Huion Camvas 16 Pro, which has a 1440P screen but only takes HDMI. Needless to say, this didnt work with my tablet. Hopefully this can help someone else looking for a similar device to use with their tablet - look for an active adapter that can handle 1440P or 4K! However, for me not all was lost, as I was using my single HDMI port from my graphics card to output to a home theater receiver that I use for my speakers. So I plugged the Huion to the HDMI on my graphics card and used this DP to HDMI adapter to connect to the receiver via HDMI, and it worked! I was kinda surprised, as I didnt expect DP to also output audio, but it does. Worked perfectly! Aside from that, the adapter feels well made and sturdy. Seems pretty quality. Review: Awesome value! Best on the market at this time. - I looked around a lot before purchasing this item and selected it for two main reasons: 1. The previous reviews that I read, and 2. The great price and value I completely agree with one of the previous reviewers that having the short length of flexible cable between the two ends of the adapter makes this a far more safer, reliable, and convenient product. The other designs have a long, rigid dongle that is far more likely to exert serious strain on the computer's DP connector and eventually damage it. I tested this with my new Fujitsu Lifebook T901 PC and a 47-inch Mitsubishi LCD TV - and it worked the first time - video and audio! The T901 itself actually has an HDMI port and does not need this adapter, but the port replicator/docking station that Fujitsu sells for this laptop has a DP port instead of HDMI - that's what I used in this test. I was worried about getting audio - not all DP ports or adapters support audio transmission - but in this case both did. The only thing I am worried about now is that I have seen some reviews (of OTHER PRODUCTS - not this one) that say that the "latching" feature of the DP connector breaks after a while, especially if you plug/unplug frequently. Personally, I think the latching is unnecessary and actually a pain in the a$$. I'd very much like to see this adapter made without the latches. But I am just guessing that it is part of the DP spec because I have not seen a single DP adapter or cable out there without this. Hope that changes. Bottom line - great product and great value so far! ## Features - Unidirectional DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter: Cable Matters Display Port to HDMI Adapter connects a DisplayPort, DP, DP++, or DisplayPort++ laptop or desktop to an HDMI monitor, HDTV, or projector. This Display Port to HDMI Adapter works only from a DP source to an HDMI display; an HDMI cable is required and sold separately - Not an HDMI to DisplayPort Adapter: This DP to HDMI Adapter is not bidirectional and is not an HDMI to DisplayPort Adapter, or HDMI to DP Adapter. It will not convert an HDMI computer, game console, or media player to a DisplayPort monitor. Not compatible with USB ports - Full HD for Extended or Mirrored Displays: Use this Display Port Adapter to HDMI Monitor solution to add an HDMI monitor, TV, or projector to a DP-equipped computer. Supports extended desktop and mirrored display modes for multitasking, presentations, video streaming, gaming, and everyday Full HD 1080p viewing - Audio 7.1 Channel Support: Display Port to HDMI Cable Adapter transmits high-definition video and audio from your DisplayPort-equipped computer to an HDMI display. Supports uncompressed digital 7.1, 5.1, and 2-channel audio when supported by the source computer, HDMI display, and system settings - Secure & Durable Connection: DisplayPort to HDMI Cable Adapter features gold-plated connectors for corrosion resistance and reliable signal transmission. The DisplayPort connector includes latches for a secure connection, and the release button must be pressed before unplugging the DP to HDMI Adapter ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B005H3I38Q | | Best Sellers Rank | #42 in DVI-HDMI Adapters | | Brand | Cable Matters | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | Laptop, Desktop, TV, Projector | | Connector Type | HDMI | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 4,131 Reviews | | External Testing Certification | Não aplicável | | Finish | Hdmi,Projector | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00738435980320 | | Item Dimensions | 9.1 x 6.3 x 0.1 inches | | Item Weight | 0.27 g | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 9.1 x 6.3 x 0.1 inches | | Manufacturer | Cable Matters | | Mfr Part Number | 102018 | | Model Number | 102018 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Ports | 1 | | Package Quantity | 1 | | Power Plug Type | No Plug | | Specific Uses For Product | Monitor,Projector | | UPC | 738435980320 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Type | Extended | ## Product Details - **Color:** Black - **Compatible Devices:** Laptop, Desktop, TV, Projector - **Connector Type:** HDMI - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 9.1 x 6.3 x 0.1 inches - **Specific Uses For Product:** Monitor,Projector ## Images ![Cable Matters DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, Unidirectional DP to HDMI - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61dYm9fnfWL.jpg) ![Cable Matters DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, Unidirectional DP to HDMI - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71gcTC5P92L.jpg) ![Cable Matters DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, Unidirectional DP to HDMI - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/811fpCOwNEL.jpg) ![Cable Matters DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, Unidirectional DP to HDMI - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81mDcPWU4AL.jpg) ![Cable Matters DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, Unidirectional DP to HDMI - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71wvLXm-QlL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Number Of Items** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this adapter bi-directional?** A: No, it only converts DisplayPort output to HDMI input. Bottom line - great product and great value so far! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ quick and easy connection *by A***E on April 9, 2012* The adapter arrived relatively quickly and was as represented in the picture and description. I plugged it into the DisplayPort on my laptop (HP EliteBook 8460p)and connected it to the HDMI cable in one of the ports in the 24" tv (Sony NSX-24GT1) I am using as a second monitor. It worked right away. I got both sound and video without altering any settings on either the computer or the tv. The picture is clear and the sound is clear and strong. I run windows in extended screen mode and the text in the windows is as clear and easy to read on the tv as it is on the laptop screen. I had read reviews about some adapters being difficult if not impossible to disconnect from the DisplayPort connector but I have no such difficulty with this adapter. It holds well and releases easily with a press of the release button on the top face of the adapter. The flexibility of the cable makes it easy to get my hand around the adapter and press the button with my thumb for removal. I would recommend this adapter for any application similar to mine. ## Frequently Bought Together - Cable Matters DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (DP to HDMI Adapter is NOT Compatible with USB Ports, Do NOT Order for USB Ports on Computers) - Cable Matters DisplayPort to VGA Adapter Male to Female, Gold Plated DP to VGA Adapter, Black - Cable Matters Unidirectional HDMI to VGA Adapter, VGA to HDMI Converter, Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kg/products/1188442-cable-matters-displayport-to-hdmi-adapter-unidirectional-dp-to-hdmi](https://www.desertcart.kg/products/1188442-cable-matters-displayport-to-hdmi-adapter-unidirectional-dp-to-hdmi) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kyrgyzstan* *Store origin: KG* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
