**Q: Can I turn on/off the IR illumination at will or does it automatically come on at night?**
A: Yes! From the on camera help:Enable IR illumination - Check this box to enable the built in IR light. The built in IR light can be used for video surveillance in areas with low light, without requiring addition of external lighting. The IR light can be disabled, by unchecking the Enable IR illumination box, this is useful in order to be able to use the Axis product in areas where the use of IR light is forbidden.Synchronize IR illumination with day/night - Check this box to synchronize the IR light illumination with Day/Night detection, that is the IR light will automatically be turned on during the night and turned off during the day. Uncheck this box to disable the IR light synchronization with Day/Night. Note that for Axis products with IR cut filter, the filter setting must be Auto or Off, in order for the Day/Night synchronization to work.

**Q: Does anybody know how to turn on and off the IR light using http/cgi protocols?**
A: Active or de - acctivate IR from Setup - Video - Camera Settings. Enable this button from Live View Congig - Action Buttons. Move the slider to increase or decrease the intensity of the Leds.

**Q: Does this come with the original packaging and mounting items, tools?**
A: Yes, original packaging, by tools if you mean a torx  security key yes

**Q: Can the camera read a automobile license plate at 50-75 feet?**
A: Depends the distant you put the camera but the real camera to read license plate are the LPR cameras. Axis dont have this kind of camera yeat.
