I spoke with my vet who indicated the disease has become more prevalent and could possibly be the result of processed foods. The vet made recommendations which I tried to no avail. I kept researching and found an informed well respected dog breeder who recommended this book if anyone was interested in the subject of raw feeding. I found it very informative with sound research. I, like the dog breeder who suggested this book, am not promoting, nor disputing raw feeding. I made a choice for the health and wellbeing of my pet partners to try the raw approach. It seems to be a precusor to the Barf Diet Books. It is technical in it's approach but describes a recommended diet which takes about two sentences. For anyone who feeds this type of diet to their dogs this book gives an excellent rationale for doing so. Although currently there is a "feud" going on between the author and those involved in BARF diets.
