From end of handle to top of axe head is 15”. Blade is 3.5” and head is 6.25” long. Great hatchet spent 3 hours chopping spruce kindling still sharp as new. **Q: Amazon has this listed as the new version. What is the difference? Did they work out the problem with the axe head breaking?** A: This axe head is made by hults bruk, if you are not familiar with them they make some amazing axes out of sweden, id say high end, so this is a great buy. **Q: Could yhis hatchet be used for carving spoons ?** A: You might be able to rough out the big chunk to carve from with a knife, but I wouldn't want to carve the whole thing with it. It is a nice hatchet though. **Q: Honest opinion between this and hults bruk jonaker hatchet?** A: I'd take this hatchet any day over that one even having never touched it. Save 100$ and get the Husqvarna.
