I sometimes walk around the house with mine on for that “times 10 gravity” training. **Q: can i change the 60 lb vest into a 20 and up by taking wheights out** A: are the bars 10 pounds a piece **Q: Going to be Hiking or rucking will this vest work and be comfortable enough for that? Wil I need additional shoulder pads** A: I use the 40lb model to train for wildland firefighting, so I'm hiking several miles a day with this on. It's very much doable, but you have to be careful of a few things. 1.) I have the model without shoulder pads, and it definitely chafes, especially right at the base of the neck, if I don't wear a shirt or i wear a tank top. 2.) It does NOT breathe, so your entite torso will be drenched (which can lead to chafing at the shoulder, underarms and hips) and the vest itself will be soaked through so it gets pretty funky if you don't hang it out to dry afterwards. 3.) At least for me, the waist strap sits a bit higher than I would like, not down on my hips like a good ruck sack, so you have to really constrict the vest, and thus your breathing will be a bit impeded, so as to carry to weight off your shoulders; but, even then you definitely still feel a lot of the weight on your shoulders and after a while your back will be pretty upset. **Q: I'm looking to get this as a gift.The pictures don't really show if it covers the entire torso or not.Are sit ups possible? Why this over a short one?** A: It pretty much covers my entire torso... I'm not thinking this design is optimal for situps, but I'm guessing it could be done... I think holding a weighted ball or 25lb weight on my chest would be more suited for situps or crunches. The quality seems great, the weight is good too. I do worry if it will last long. So far no issues. I did find you want to wear a longer sleeve t-shirt. I got some small cuts on my right shoulder as it was rubbing against the vest in odd angles.
