They're also distinctive these days, mainly because they're still around. Though their debut is the most radio-friendly and least musically mature of their albums, it does have some excellent songs on it, including the slow but edgy "18 and Life" and the anthem (every metal album must have one) "Youth Gone Wild". I could hardly wait to hear it again and to get the cassette. Not long after that, I got the album on tape and I liked just about every song. My favorites were, and still are, of course, the classic trifecta of huge hits: Youth Gone Wild, 18 and Life, and I Remember You, and the track Here I Am. I also had a huge crush on Sebastian Back like most girls did at the time. This album is still pretty great...the big singles are still the stand-outs. Youth Gone Wild never gets old. I Remember You is one of the best hair metal power ballads ever. And who doesn't get nostalgic when they hear the guitar strings start, and the classic line, "Ricky was a young boy, he had a heart of stone". Each of the videos for those songs is a classic, too. Every rock fan needs this album in their collection. I think it deserves 5 stars.
