These are what is called a "Jobber Length" drill. Overall length is 3 inches, flute length is 1-7/8 inches. **Q: What speed rpm should run these bits?** A: I always default to lower RPM's to ensure clean cuts. Probably in the 300 - 500 range. Seems to cut better. **Q: Where are these made?** A: I believe they are made in the USA. These are just jobber bits. They are not for drilling extremely hard metals like structural stainless steel. Most boat and car hardware is not structural stainless steel. These worked great on aluminum and regular steel. If you are drilling extremely hard metal you should go with a USA made carbide bit which is very brittle so it will shatter if overheated but it is the only thing that works. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Last for 200 holes *by N***8 on Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2023* I used this bit for drilling 300 holes in 1/8" aluminum plate, using a drill press and Tap Magic aluminum fluid. The first bit lasted for first 200 holes, and the second finished the job just fine. Usually, M42 drills will have some sort of designation like "m42" or ''co" stamped in the drill to indicate they are cobalt. These only have "HS" indicating high speed steel. Who knows if they are cobalt.
