We loved the simplicity of these and the brushed metal look complemented our other fittings. I can't comment on the ease of installation since I asked an electrician to do so - he didn't have any problems. The bracket which holds them in place is only attached in two places which means it doesn't necessarily fit as flush with the ceiling as you would like - but that is a relatively common feature for this kind of fitting.The cable that holds the bulb needs a bit of encouragement to hang straight. For us, we're just using straight bulbs - so there is not much weight on them to remove the kinks. If you were using some heavier shades too then that would no doubt be less of a problem.
