How It Works First, the air enter the particulate filter, which has 10 micron cleanable Polyethylene element. In this stage, corrosive moisture, pipe scale, dirt and rust are removed from airline protecting the precision part in the regulator. And pass to regulator, the air enter a high-performance regulator, which reduces primary pressure to a desired pressure setting. Installation: Install units so the airflow is in the direction β€œIN-OUT” as indicated by arrow on the head of the unit. The Air must go into the filter first in line of additional units such as regulators or lubricators, and as close as possible to the pneumatic tools or appliances being serviced. Unit must be installed in parallel from floor, downstream position for proper function. DO NOT INSTALL POLYCARBONATE BOWL IN PRESSURE THAT EXCEEDS 150 PSI OR WHERE THERE IS A PRESENCE OF SOLVENTS HARMFUL TO POLYCARCONATE. In these cases, use a metal bowl. I replaced a much older filter and regulator on my 20 year old plus Ingersoll Rand compressor. The PneumaticPlus regulator and filter immediately went to work separating moisture and contaminates from the compressed air. The drain cup is about 2 1/2" long, which seems small. I like the fact it is clear and I can see what is in cup. Easy to read dial and flow pressure is easy to adjust. I used a combination of brass and copper tubes and hardware to mount filter/regulator to compressor as shown in pics to reduce contaminates in air. My earlier setup used steel pieces that corroded from water and age. Lots of dark brown crud inside of the old hardware, so upgraded connecting hardware for this new setup. Haven't ran any air tools yet with it, but see no reason it won't work out OK. It's a bit small compared to what you may be used to. Separates water from air very well and regulator stays on desired settings with little to no variations in pressure settings.
