The largest of the bowls works great for mixing melted butter with herbs to spread over hot rolls and breads (note: you don't use it to melt the butter in the microwave as this set isn't microwave safe). The smaller ones I use for holding my mixture of various herbs and spices for tossing into sauces and dishes later, so I don't have to 'spoon and dump' from a dozen different jars while I'm cooking. Turns out these little ramekins turned me into a 'meal prep' cook after all. Who would have guessed. They nest/stack great and take up little to no space. They clean easily; again, I hand-wash since there's no dishwasher. They are very lightweight, but of thick and sturdy material. I have them in all four sizes and use them on a daily basis. They are very well made, sturdy, scratch resistant and clean up nicely in the dishwasher. The non slip bottom ring helps keep the bowl in place and the handle is a nice feature to hold the bowls while mixing and assists in pouring out the contents. Only downfall is that you can't put them in the microwave.
