Review: Beautiful, Simple and Thoughtful Baby Book - I love it. - Okay, so I absolutely love this baby book, and I am not sure what other people feel is lacking from it. The artwork/imagery is gorgeous and appealing to look at, which is the first thing that I noticed about this book. My firstborn's baby book was a gift given to me, and I have to say, this baby book beats it for so many reasons (starting with the beautiful artwork). My firstborn's baby book was all pale blue and white - very boring to look at even after filling it out and adding pictures and stickers. I did not like the set up of the book at all. THIS baby book has a great format. The book starts off with some simple stuff like a picture of the ultrasound, how far along you were in pregnancy during the ultrasound, a picture of mama's belly, who you first told about the pregnancy, etc. The space for all of the information for when baby is born is simple and adorable, and there is a big page where you can include foot prints and hand prints. There's space to include a birth announcement, hospital bracelet and a picture of the baby's new home. All of the months (e.g. "1 Month," "2 Month," "3 Month," etc.) are back to back pages which I LOVE, because they are all in one place. I can only imagine how cute it will be to flip through these pages and see the growth of our child. Each month has a few things you can write about, such as "We'll never forget..." "You love..." "You don't like..." "You can..." Very simple, but some nice stuff to jot down. Someone mentioned that the spaces for the pictures are too small, so much that said person got very upset. I have to say that I completely disagree. The spaces given for photos are pretty generous, and much larger than I have seen in other baby books. In my firstborn's baby book, the spaces for the pictures were so tiny, at least half of the size of what you are given in this baby book. There is a page for your baby's favorite things, such as: song, cartoon, color, foods, sound, friend, game, toys, and book. There is a page for your baby's family tree. First bath, first smile, first Dr. visit, etc. Spaces for dates and pictures for important milestones such as when baby learns to sit up, crawl, stand, walk, etc. Then, there are a few consecutive pages where you can put pictures of their first holidays. What I especially love about this baby book is that you have moments that go beyond the first year. There are pages dedicated to your baby's birthdays going up to age 5. There is a page for you child's first day of school. At the end of the book, you get several pages that are blank where you can put whatever you want - great for moms who love to scrapbook. I'd say that the only "downside" is that you have very limited space to write, but at the same time, the format is so simple and straight forward that you don't have much reason to write more than what they give you the space for. All in all, it's a beautiful, simple, and thoughtful baby book that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a precious keepsake for their children to flip through when they are older. I can't wait to fill the entire book with the memories to come!

**Q: Does this book refer to the parents as mom and dad? Looking for a book for a queer family.**
A: This baby book takes a very child-focused approach. You will find that most references to parents are worded like "we loved," "we watched you grow," etc. We've recently updated the family tree and removed all labels due to various family dynamics to give customers the freedom to label each space to fit their personal situations. The only specific reference to any one parent is on the "before you were born" page where there's a photo spot for mom's belly and a blank to write what mom was craving. Hope this helps!

**Q: Does this book have a place for handprints?**
A: Yes...one page for foot prints and/or tracing of hands is available in this book.

**Q: what is the size of the photo should we print/use?**
A: The photo layout is designed to reflect Instagram square photos. The larger squares are 4x4 and the smaller squares are 3x3. We have found the "tiny prints" with Parabo will fit into the smaller 3x3 squares and the larger squares fit 4x4 photos. Parabo Press also allows you to crop your photos to square before printing. The "mini square" prints from Social Print Studio are 2.4," so a little smaller but still work well. Hope this helps.

**Q: Does the book have a growth chart? And how do you get the handprints/footprints - can you use ink pad and is it included?**
A: This baby book does not  have a specific page designated for a growth chart but there are several blank pages at the back that could be used for this purpose. The handprints/footprints can be traced or stamped with an ink pad which is NOT included with the baby book. Hope this helps!

Absolutely LOVE this book. I wanted something that I would actually use, my first baby book i only used about 1/2 of it because I'm not a big scrapbooker. This book has all the prompts that you will WANT to remember/ fill out. The quality and durability is outstanding as well. The cover is soft, feels almost like leather, and the pages are thick. The graphics are beautiful, and girly. There are several pages in the back that are blank that can be used for extra photos or writing. The binding is a spiral notebook so you can rearrange pages as well! Some reasons this book isn't perfect for everyone; the photo squares are not a “standard” size, the writing spaces are small, the family tree prompt is confusing(definitely have to be creative to get it to work). For me this memory book is perfect. I cannot wait to fill out its pages while getting to know my newborn baby.
