;) so excuse me while I make some completely chaotic points about all the things I loved about it :)#1 NO DRAMA :) I mean… I know that some people complained in their reviews about this story because there was no conflict… you know, the one that usually happens near the end of the book and has to be resolved before the happy ending… I’m rarely a fan of those situations, cause a lot of the time it’s blown out of proportion and it’s not handled very well by the main characters… I’m talking about the situations when there’s this like big fight or something like that, often because of some stupid miscommunication that could be resolved by an honest conversation but sometimes instead of days it’s weeks, or worse, months before it’s dealt with… so the further I got into this book, the more worried I got… cause I was really loving it and I was dreading this sort of situation… but it NEVER HAPPENED :) it’s just a beautiful story about two people meeting, becoming friends and falling for one another with an absolutely the sweetest epilogue at the end :) on the other hand if you love angst don’t read this book, it’s not for you ;)#2 the story :) I had to start with the “no drama” point cause that one shook me to my very core in the best way possible ;) but let me tell you in a few more details why I adored the story itself :) Scarlett met Sterling “Rowdy” Wade during one of the parties in the baseball house… as in, she went there with her friends, they were flirting with some players and Scarlett was… well, she was sort of pointing out the stupid way they were flirting or how they were lying about some stuff… so Rowdy, the team captain, was designated to keep her on the porch and outside of the house, so she wouldn’t interfere… charming, I know :) but they actually ended up having a good time, with some entertaining banter… they both made an impression on one another, so when one week later Scarlett is back, Sterling is already waiting on the porch… you know, to not let her inside ;) this happens for a few more weeks until it turns into something more… like I mentioned before, they start as friends with that spark of something more underneath, but there’s no rush into anything… it’s actually a slow burn romance and I loved it ;)#3 Scarlett :) I adored her to pieces… I was afraid she would be more of a shy person… and don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing bad about it, I just prefer my heroines different :) she was smart and confident… not the type to often go out or to parties, but not because she hates it… she just likes to spend her time alone :) another thing I loved about her is that she’s a virgin, but doesn’t make that big of a deal about it… I mean, it’s still important to her, cause she hasn’t slept with anyone for a reason, it’s just… it’s hard for me to explain, but I really like her attitude when it comes to this situation… not to mention how it’s handled when it comes to her relationship with Sterling :) and speaking of the devil… ;)#4 Sterling :) what a great hero of the story… what I loved most about him, was that he was interested in Scarlett for something more serious… yes, he was attracted to her, but because they started out as friends and with quite a lot of talking, they were able to build a foundation :) he’s focused and knows what he wants… and he can be very persuasive.. :) yes, patient as well, cause he never pressures Scarlett into anything and always respects her decision to stop, but he can be charming and seductive along the way :)#5 the writing style :) I flew through this book in record time… :) now it’s definitely one of my all time favourites and I will be re-reading it on a regular basis because it was everything I love in stories… and a big part of this is the writing style… the interesting characters, the slow burn romance between them… all the sparks and banter… :) the way they actually talk with one another and communicate… :) *squeels with joy* I need more stories like that#6 audiobook :) last but not least, as much as I am just in general recommending you to read this book in any format you prefer, I highly encourage you to give the audiobook a try :) it was absolutely phenomenal, and both narrators really brought the main characters to life :) I enjoyed every minute of it and in the future will probably re-read the story in that format as well… ;) ### ⭐⭐⭐ Porch story *by I***A on Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2023* This is a nice and cute little story, albeit lacking in drama, which doesn't bother me at all. However, I felt that it lacked depth and complexity. Although I liked the idea of the plot, the execution fell short. The conversations on the porch between the main characters grew boring, and I wasn't convinced that they could become best friends. It feels more like a statement than my own observation.The development of the couple's relationship was sweet, and their intimacy was touching. However, it wasn't enough to make me rate the book any higher. There was little action aside from their interactions, and the book failed to show their growth in their chosen professions or other qualities of their personalities. Additionally, the scene where Rowdy confesses his feelings to his mother was quite odd. While it may be something a mother would hope to hear from her son, it felt artificial.Another issue that I couldn't overlook was the typo. They were quite distracting, as I had to reread sentences to understand what was missing. If you're particular about grammar, this is a fair warning.Overall, the book wasn't bad, but it's more suitable for readers who are up to flat and simplistic stories. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun Story Full of Heart *by H***S on Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2023* I don't always read stories with college aged main characters because they sometimes come off as too juvenile but this story really found a great balance of exploring first loves with humor and substance. I really enjoyed reading this. I do kind of wonder what happened to the girl's friends as they sort of disappear from the plot half way through but overall the story solely focuses on the two main characters and not much else from their lives. Again, that's not normally what I want in a book (I prefer at least a glimpse into the day to day life and relationships with sub characters too) but somehow this one pulled me in and I couldn't put it down. It's a nice glimpse into falling in love with two college students who start out butting heads but quickly become friends and then realize it's something more.
