Make sure to wash and dry then 6-8 times before using. It makes a difference! Also, we use them with double gusseted covers only. I wouldn’t waste money on any cloth diaper covers or all in ones that only have a single gusset around the legs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Long Size and GDM Comparison *by K***Y on Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2021* I have now purchased 3 sets of these prefolds. I really like them. I have a 17 month boy who is started to out-pee his GMD Small Size (yellow edge) prefolds back around 12-13 months. I mostly use Alva and Mama Koala pocket diapers and sometimes diaper covers. I was considering a dozen large size GDM Cloth-eez but they were going to cost me around $41+4.95 shipping. And I have a toddler- so I kept putting off ordering from their site. I ordered these and were surprised by how large they were. After some research I learned this size is considered a “traditional-long” size. Like you would see with a Gerber diaper. This gives you an extra 6” on the GDM Smalls but none of the added width. I take the extra 6” about the top 1/3 of the diaper’s length and fold it down before tri-folding. Then I place it in the cover or stuff the pocket. This gives me so much absorbency in the front where I need it but no extra bulk in the butt. If I would have sized up to the Large (Brown) GDM I would have had 2 more inches of width to deal with and only 4 more inches of length. Good if you are trying to wrap and pin on a larger baby but not as a pocket insert.- Thickness and Weave: The Premium Size Blue Edge in this length gives you a 4x8x4 thickness that is identical to the GDM with an identical weave. I believe also a similar quality of cotton although GDM has a very slightly rougher yarn with slightly less lint.- Origin: Both are made in Pakistan where tons of world’s cotton is woven.- BetterFit: OsoCozy makes a BetterFit version of this prefolds that fits more like a GDM without the extra length. The Premium in the Better Fit size has a red edge and is almost identical to a GDM Small yellow in size and price.- 4x6 or 4x8?: I also bought the Regular White Edge 4x6x4 size of the traditional long OsoCozy because I thought the 4x8x4 Premiums would be too thick when folded over. Osocozy Indian Cotton Prefolds Infant size blue seams combined with Thirties Diaper Covers (yellow is the XSmall diaper cover- pink poppy is the Duo Snap Wrap Size One) has made cloth diapering easy and less confusing! There are sooo many options with choosing to go green and use cloth diapers! With an average sized newborn, 7-8 lb newborn,infant or newborn size prefolds are the way to go when dealing with the umbilical cord and a small babe; I fold the front down just like a disposable😊! If you're diapering a smaller baby (5-7 lbs) start with the smallest prefolds possible (Osocozy newborn; yellow seams) and a newborn or premmie diaper cover (Thirsties makes a premie and newborn).I always prepare my prefolds before use! Wash with hot water at least 3x to remove the natural oils for better absorption. During wash cycles with cotton prefolds laundry detergent is such NOT a huge deal unless YOU want it to be! USE YOUR FAMILY DETERGENT or a original name brand without a ton of brighteners and fragrances! USE THE DIRECTED AMOUNT TO ACTUALLY GET THEM CLEAN! If they start to smell a bit odd after a diaper change when wet with urine, add 1-2 Tbs of blue Dawn Dish Detergent to your regular wash and always use an extra rinse cycle with every wash! The safe detergent for diapers debates are more geared for diapers using multiple textiles, fabrics, elastics, fasteners (Velcro, Aplix, snaps etc.) etc.... Although I do usually hand wash my diaper covers with blue Dawn and line dry.The simplicity of use and the natural materials touching baby concepts with pre folds are my reasons for using them for at least the first 6 months!! Then I switch to my own personal patterned design for pocket diapers; which still use these Osocozy prefolds as inserts along with thinner home sewn inserts!These have superb absorption and wash well! I suggest purchasing at least 24 prefolds; 12 is simply not enough even when washing daily! I have 36 in my rotation and it is plenty! I wash about 12-16 prefolds every night or every other day to keep myself sane, but use different set to ensure each set of 12 is washed every few days or so. I don't like to let dirty diapers sit... Just my personal preference.I highly recommend these for any stage of diapering and wanted to share my experience with these diapers!! None have torn or peeled as I have seen with other brands!! I have stains but they do eventually wash out after several washes or exposure to direct sunlight!! They do shrink considerably after prep period but that is to be expected!! The blue seam infant size shrunk to 10"x13.5" after several washes and use!! At 10-12lbs think about investing in the next size up depending on your baby's shape if using as an pinned or snappied diaper! I needed a new size at 15lbs with a average height and weight babe!😊 My only con is they lose a bit of their softness as weeks and months go by, but they are not rough by any means...
