Toots, the prettiest girl in the fifth grade, never talks to Mickey, not even when they're assigned to work together on a class project. But Toots has come to Mickey because she's in trouble, and he's a detective. The real deal. He has a badge and a certificate after completing an online course two years ago. You have to believe me, Mickey. I didn't take that pen. I didn't. When Toots shines her big green eyes on him and insists repeatedly that she's innocent, Mickey's intuition tells him to run fast--in the opposite direction. But he's a sucker for a pretty girl, so he takes on the case of the missing pen. Rumor has it that Toots stole Eddy's pen. It's not just any old pen; it's his dad's pen. It has the White House logo on it. Eddy's father, a senator from South Texas, got the pen from the President of the United States when he visited the White House last year. As Mickey begins his investigation, though, all the clues point to Toots and her newly ex-boyfriend as the primary suspects. Will Mickey be able to solve the case of the pen gone missing? The first book in The Mickey Rangel Mystery series for intermediate readers, author and educator Rene Saldana, Jr. has crafted another appealing book for kids, and his wise-cracking, smart protagonist will appeal to even the most reluctant readers. Review: Approved by my wife and her Students. - My wife likes it and said give it 5 stars. It is in Spanish and I have no idea what the hell it is about, but her students and her approved of it. I did not read the English portion. Review: Three Stars - Very disappointed in the abrupt "I'm out of paper" ending. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #1,269,675 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #7,549 in Children's Mystery, Detective, & Spy #8,112 in Children's School Issues #50,477 in Children's Reference & Nonfiction (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 10 Reviews | ## Images ![The Case of the Pen Gone Missing/El Caso de La Pluma Perdida: A Mickey Rangel Mystery/Coleccion Mickey Rangel, Detective Privado (English and Spanish Edition) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71yMczdtlOL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Media Format** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Approved by my wife and her Students. *by M***O on December 7, 2024* My wife likes it and said give it 5 stars. It is in Spanish and I have no idea what the hell it is about, but her students and her approved of it. I did not read the English portion. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Three Stars *by W***R on April 1, 2016* Very disappointed in the abrupt "I'm out of paper" ending. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun Book *by J***R on September 19, 2011* This book has an engaging storyline and clear character types. The story has a good pace with nice little plot twists. Of course, this book is for young people, but as a person still learning Spanish, it is an entertaining way to improve my Spanish literacy. I did not read the English side of the book, though English is my native tongue. So I don't know if the English version is as entertaining as the Spanish version. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kg/products/10175299-the-case-of-the-pen-gone-missing-el-caso-de](https://www.desertcart.kg/products/10175299-the-case-of-the-pen-gone-missing-el-caso-de) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kyrgyzstan* *Store origin: KG* *Last updated: 2026-10-18*
