The sound was a little too consistent and not loud enough though. I removed the serpentine belt and spun each component. Everything was tight and smooth, except for this grooved idler pulley. After I removed the original and spun it on my finger, I could feel the defect- there was small bump every revolution- now multiply that by the RPM this thing spins and add way more pressure and you can see how it could produce this -almost- familiar noise. Continental replacement looks to be the exact OE type which came from the Ford factory. Same NSK bearing and everything- let's hope this one lasts longer than the original which only had 50K miles on it. So for the 1000 or so of us that still have a Marauder, this is about an inch too large in diameter, and it will not let the belt pass by. Amazon's vehicle match tool is incorrect, as well as continental's website... Somebody messed up. Had to go to the auto parts store and buy the correct size, and return the 2 idler pulleys I bought on amazon.
