It's at least as good as my Jawbone Prime was if not better in most respects.I have some major complaints however.There's a nice  Jawbone Companion  application for checking your battery level on screen and customizing your headset.It requires Windows XP or higher or one of the more recent MacOS X revisions.I don't have any of these things. Not really. I don't see a REASON to need them for a Bluetooth headset. Both Android and IOS phones use something akin to UNIX, OS X is Unix, why can't they make it work with Linux - or better yet not need a stupid PC at all?It works right out of the box for simple pairing and phone calls, but you can't check your battery level or anything else until you've hooked it up to a Mac or Windows PC. On my Linux desktop I keep a copy of XP in Virtual Box incase I have to support a client or something. I booted it up for this purpose. Virtual Box has a great record of working with whatever weird USB devices I've bridged over to it in the past - but not this headset. I had to wait for the weekend until I visited my parents to get a Windows 7 system I could put the stupid PC side software on.It doesn't do voice control the same way my  Jabra SPORT Bluetooth Stereo Headset - Black/Yellow  attempt to do despite failing horribly. There are some applications that are supposed to be loadable onto the headset using the website and the PC component of the Jawbone Companion software, but it appears to be very Apple specific and I was hesitant to try the stuff out without reading a review. I guess if I do decide to experiment with the software I'll have to wait until I decide to drive the 300 miles to my parents house - or actually install the OS of the unclean on a spare computer or external drive specifically for this purpose. Too much trouble for a headset.Summary - if you're an Android/Linux person stick with the Prime. The Prime is cheaper and an excellent product, the accelerometer, though nice, isn't enough of an improvement to justify the software hell introduced by this unit.Improvement over the Prime and Jawbone 2 (both of which I've owned and used). I like the actual slide On/Off switch. I had problems with my older model Jawbones turning off and on in my pocket due to accidental presses.I LIKE THE FACT THEY FINALLY EMBRACED MICRO USBReally - proprietary sucks. I've got one less wire type to worry about. If Nintendo would ever get onboard with standardization I would be down to only having to worry about Micro and Mini USB. You have no idea how happy I am not to have to worry about Jawbone specific cables for charging anymore. It makes my backpack that much lighter.Note - yes I ignored the existence of the Jawbone Icon. I bought one for a female friend and it was a bit problematic and I heard the same reports from coworkers, so I did not mention it above. I've used most every Jawbone, the original, the 2 and the Prime. The Icon doesn't warrant mention from me otherwise. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best of the Jawbones so far *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2014* This is about the fifth Jawbone BT headset that I have owned, and it is definitely the best of the bunch. I spend hours every day for the phone, so a BT headset is a must. I also frequently work in a very noisy environment (a woodshop) and no other Bluetooth headset can compare to the Jawbone when it comes to noise cancellation. I can talk on the Icon with a tablesaw or compressor running and the person on the other end typically has no complaints. (A router on the other hand, which turns at about 20,000 RPM, is a different story. Apparently the high RPM creates radio interference which can elicit nasty complaints from the people on the other end).While the battery life is not tremendous, the Jawbone recharges very quickly via a micro USB cable.Unlike some folks, I have no trouble getting the earbud to fit securely and comfortably.One great thing about the Jawbone is that it is small. That is also the bad thing about the Jawbone - it is very easy to lose. Also, it does not float and it does not make a durable chew toy for my dog - hence my 5th Jawbone. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent bluetooth, could use better fit *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2013* The Jawbone ERA is the best Bluetooth I have ever used. Excellent sound, and the Noise Assassin reduces wind noise quite a bit.My only complaint is the fit in the ear. Although various size ear pieces can be purchased, I was never able to find one that would fit firmly but comfortably in my ear. Although the Jawbone was comfortable, it had a tendency to loosen out of the ear, which is a problem because the Jawbone needs to stay in contact with your jaw in order to properly transmit the sound.
